Wow! We were so spoilt today! Your granny and Michele did such a good job organising a baby shower for us and it was so much fun!

I had to sit inside the house until everyone had arrived so that I wouldn’t see what gifts people brought. One of the things I had to do was to guess who the gift was from based on a baby photo of that person. I never anticipated that such a task would be so difficult! Anyway, guessing wrong meant that there was a forfeit involved. I ended up doing a lot of forfeits which included dancing the funky chicken, singing “Barbie Girl”, changing a Barbie Doll’s nappy (not as easy as you would think because I kept stabbing her with the safety pin – thank goodness your nappies have sticky tabs and don’t need pins!), singing “Mary Had a Little Lamb”, singing a lullaby to Barbie and touching my toes.

I was only allowed to drink out of a bottle. This was quite a challenge in the beginning until I got it figured out!

I have a poster where everyone wrote down their estimated birth date for you, so we will see who is right at the end of the day. Luckily no one has predicted that you will be born in September. Only a few people have predicted that you will be late.

As I was opening gifts, Cornelia was writing down all my comments and these were used afterwards to question if some of the things were what I might possibly have said to your daddy at the time of conception. Needless to say that was quite funny and I was crying from laughing so much!
We had a whole car boot and back seat full of gifts! I can’t believe how spoilt we got! You even got a little gift and card from your daddy. I didn’t open the card in front of everyone because I knew it would just make me want to cry. But it was a very sweet card, your daddy said that he cannot wait to see your face!

Now I will have to get all the clothes washed and ironed and I can pack the room properly so that it is all ready for you.
